Plane: Montreal is served by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (YUL). From the airport, a taxi to the downtown core costs about $35-$45. More economically, you can take the Airport Express bus #747, which operators 24 hours per day and costs $8 (exact fare necessary coins only!). The closest stop to UQAM is stop number 8 (René Lévesque and Jeanne-Mance). Bus: Buses arrive and depart from the Station Centrale d'autobus, which is a short walk to/from UQAM. Intercity bus service is offered by Megabus, Coach Canada, Adirondack Trailways, Greyhound. Train: Trains arrive and depart from the Gare Centrale, which is a short walk to/from UQAM. Train service is provided by Via Rail Canada and Amtrak. Other: More information can be found on the WikiTravel website for Montreal.
Past Meetings: Sara Faridi maintains a website with a list of all the past meetings in this series of conferences.
Conference Dinner: There will be an informal conference dinner on Saturday night: we reserved several tables at the restaurant Casa Grecque. The restaurant is about a 1km walk from the conference venue (see map below).
The restaurant does not serve alcohol, but you can apportez votre vin (bring your own wine). The map below indicates two locations where you can buy a bottle of wine: there is a depanneur (convenience store) right across from the restaurant that carries a limited selection of wine (limited in both quantity and quality); there is also an SAQ wine store a short walk from the restaurant.
